Me and John were very much alike. We had so many of the same interests, sometimes it was scary. We loved hiking and watching Nature. And going for drives late at night.

On Summer nights we would go way out in the country, and pull the car over, and get out and look at the stars. I relished those nights.

One night he was working on our house and the back part didn't have the roof put on yet.

I went out to take him some tea and he said, "Lay down with me and look at the stars." We layed down on the floor and looked up at a masterpiece. The stars where so bright that night..He said," Make a wish." I made a wish. And I told him to make one. We layed there holding hands and talking while we looked at the silver stars in a black velvet sky.

I didn't want that moment to end. But moments do end. Have you ever noticed that we remember moments not days?

We both loved Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young. This was one of our favorite songs. I hope you have a chance to listen to it..

xoxo Nita

Okay Nita,

You got me here, right in the heart. We absolutely love CSN&Y. They came out shortly after we were married in 68 and we would stay up late in the night making collages, drinking rum and coke, and have their music playing. They have so many songs I love, "Our House", "Wooden Ships", "Gweneviere", I could go on and on. Even though it has been 40 years, their music is ageless and timeless, just as love is. Your memories hurt my heart for you but in a good way. I love you and continue to pray you through these times.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

Moments are what hold our hearts together, evermore, in time's continuum. Moments keep our loved ones close to us, no matter what realm they are in.

Prayers, thoughts and lots of love to you, dear friend.

I don't know you well - you were kind enough to leave a lovely comment on my blog, so I thought I would visit you.
Your writing and the emotion invoked is beyond description.
Life certainly doesn't seem to be handing out many breaks; I don't know your story but from what I have read, I admire your courage.
The CSN song is one of my all-time faves, I think I'll add it to my play list. Then, of course, I will think of you when I hear it; and I will say a prayer.

When I read your post, I think of Lee Laurie and myself. Rides at night in the Jeep, pulling over and sometimes dancing even though there isn't any music. It seems like "we" have so much in common. Prayers go up for you.
Take care,
Stevie

the wonderful thing about you and john, nita....is that you made the most of life and moments....you took time to do the sweet things that so many of us are too busy to do....and THAT, my friend is why you have so many wonderful memories....i love the quote "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away." ....you certainly seemed to have many of those to measure life by.....and i love CSN&Y....the harmony of their voices....mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
love,
